Dr. Joseph Cochran Biography
Dr. Joseph Cochran began his professional career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California in the School of Engineering, Department of Computer Science. His research and teaching focus was in the area of Artificial Intelligence.
After five years in academia he decided to make the switch to the corporate arena. For the next eight years he held executive positions in Fortune 200 organizations. His last corporate position was with Anchor Glass in Tampa, Florida, where he was Sr. Vice President of Corporate Systems & Technology, having responsibility for Engineering, Advanced Technology, R&D, Reengineering, and Quality Management.
In 1997 he decided to move into consulting and over a 10-year span founded two successful consulting companies and developed a national clientele that included several Fortune 100 companies. His consulting practice focused on technology implementations, process design, and strategy.
In 2007 Dr. Cochran decided to return to education and accepted a position with Hillsborough County Public Schools as Manager of Business Process Improvement. In 2015 he was promoted to General Manager of Strategy Management where he established and leads the Office of Strategy Management.
Dr. Cochran has published 3 books and over 25 articles in referred journals, and has presented papers at numerous national and international conferences. He has also served on the Board of Directors for several youth and church organizations, and enjoys coaching youth sports.
Dr. Cochran hold a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California, an M.S. from Northeastern, and a B.S. from the University of Oklahoma. He resides in Lutz with his wife, Magalys, and their children.
