Tampa, Fla. – (December 18, 2015) – Superintendent Jeff Eakins is excited to announce Hillsborough County Public Schools has reached a tentative salary agreement with the Classroom Teachers Association (CTA), which includes teachers, Education Support Professionals (ESP), paraprofessionals, psychologists, media specialists, and guidance counselors as well as others under the CTA bargaining unit.
Under the agreement, all instructional staff will advance one level on the salary schedule. Teacher’s aides will get a 6-percent raise in addition to a one-time bonus pay of $275. The agreement must still be ratified by the teachers union. The School Board would then have to approve the contract which would come to them at a meeting in January.
“I want to thank everyone for their patience while we worked to come up with the most equitable plan for all of our staff. We know the hard work our employees put in everyday as we all work to prepare our students for life. We are glad our employees will see this additional money as quickly as possible,” said Hillsborough County Public Schools Superintendent Jeff Eakins.
